WESSEX LEAGUE 2010/2011

Next season's Wessex league structure has now been announced and Newport will have 2 different sides to face.

Hamble ASSC gained promotion back to the Premier division at the first attempt. Their last visit here was in August 2008 when we won 7-0.

Also promoted are Fawley whose only previous visit here was as Esso Fawley in the Hants Senior Cup in 2001 when we won 5-0. However at Church Litten in the sixties they frequently played our Reserves in Hampshire Div 3.

Wimborne Town have been promoted to the Southern League but with no team relegated from that league it meant a reprieve for 21st placed Laverstock and only Cowes Sports were relegated to Division 1, losing us a local derby.

In Division 1 Farnborough North End and Aldermaston have withdrawn from the league and there is one new club, Pewsey Vale who finished third in the Wiltshire league last season.

The league starts on August 7th with the F.A.Cup starting the following weekend.
